The Tata Group is gearing up to unveil two opulent resorts in Lakshadweep.

The Tata Group is poised to introduce two Taj-branded resorts in 2026 on the islands of Suheli and Kadmat in Lakshadweep. This follows the recent visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and discussions with the Maldives. The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL), a subsidiary of Tata, disclosed its plans for these Greenfield projects last year, representing a notable milestone.

PM Modi's endorsement of Lakshadweep as a tourist destination has drawn attention to its picturesque beaches. Comparisons with the Maldives have prompted discussions about the region's infrastructure preparedness for an anticipated surge in tourists, potentially boosting Lakshadweep's real estate.

Puneet Chhatwal, the Managing Director and CEO of IHCL, underscored Lakshadweep's potential by emphasizing its pristine beaches and captivating coral reefs. The forthcoming Taj resorts are designed to draw both international and domestic travelers, further elevating the region's appeal.

Comprising 36 islands, Lakshadweep boasts popular tourist destinations such as Bangaram, Agatti, Kadmath, Minicoy, Kavaratti, and Suheli. Kadmat is emerging as a distinguished diving destination in India.

The specifics of the Taj Resorts comprise 110 rooms on Suheli, featuring a blend of beach and water villas. Kadmat Island, renowned for its marine biodiversity and seagrass beds, is slated to accommodate the Taj Hotel, offering 75 beach villas and 35 water villas.

Lakshadweep, celebrated for its scenic landscapes, provides a range of water sports, including scuba diving, windsurfing, snorkeling, surfing, water skiing, and yachting.

After his visit, Prime Minister Modi praised the beauty and tranquility of Lakshadweep, urging adventure enthusiasts to consider it a must-visit destination.
